After creating the National Fishing Committee in 2008 and leading the charge for Scouts to go out and fish, our fearless leader, Ben Jelsema has decided to turn over the reins of the Fishing Committee to Rick Kagawa.
Ben has significantly changed the face of BSA fishing. He has served his region and received its highest award, the Silver Antelope. He has been the champion for BSA fishing for more than two decades. He recognized that fishing is one of the most powerful tools we have to recruit, retain and reactivate Scouts of all ages.
Thank you, Ben, for your dedication and tireless service. Also thank you for your continuing help and guidance in the future. Under Ben’s guidance we have prioritized and allocated the many responsibilities of the committee under 5 Task Teams. Ben will serve as Task Team Vice Chair.
